What is Cisco Certification Paths?

What is CCNA?
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is the first step for networkers and indicates a foundation in networking.  It is a prerequisite for CCNP, CCDP, and CCSP certifications, and recommended for CCIP certification. Do I have to take the CCNA before I take any other Cisco Certifications?
Yes, the CCNA certification exam is a prerequisite to the CCNP certification exams or any other CCNA specialities exams.  You must have a valid CCNA certification before you qualify to sit for any CCNP certifications or any other CCNA specialities certifications.  All of the topics and concepts that are presented in the CCNA courseware are further developed and expanded on in the remaining CCNP or CCNA specialities courses.

Except, for CCIE certification, There are no formal prerequisities required.  Other professional certifications or training courses are not required.  Instead, candidates must first pass a written qualification exam and then the corresponding hands-on lab exam.  You are expected to have an in-depth understanding of the topics in the exam blueprints and strongly encouraged to have three to five years of job experience before attempting certification.
What is CCNA Current and Previous Exam Code?
The first CCNA Program Exam launch by Cisco is: Exam 640-407, then followed by: Exam 640-507, Exam 640-607, Exam 640-801 and currently Exam 640-802 or combination of two exam: ICND1 (640-822) and ICND2 (640-816).
Is there any prerequisite for CCNA Certification?
No.
What about CCNA re-certification?
CCNA certifications are valid for three years.  The new ICND2 640-816 exam qualifies for recertification, providing a new option for CCNA certified individuals, other options are to take a next step level for CCNP certification exam with prefix exam code starting with 642-xxx.
What is CCNP-BSCI?

Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI) is one of four required module exams for Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.  In order to take BSCI module, you must have valid CCNA certification. What do I learn in CCNP-BSCI?
In BSCI course, you will learn how to create an efficient and expandable enterprise network by installing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network infrastructure equipment (especially routers such as Cisco ISRs) according to the Campus Infrastructure module in the Enterprise Composite Network model.  The routed network includes the most commonly used and emerging IP routing protocols.
What is CCNP Current Exam Code?
CCNP Program Exams are:
  • 642-901 Building Scalable Cisco Internetworks (BSCI)
  • 642-812 Building Cisco Multilayer Switched Networks (BCMSN)
  • 642-825 Implementing Secure Converged Wide Area Networks (ISCW)
  • 642-845 Optimizing Converged Cisco Networks (ONT)
For BSCI and BCMSN Exams, Cisco provides a package for these exams, 642-892 Composite (BSCI and BCMSN).
What about CCNP-BSCI re-certification?
CCNP-BSCI certifications are valid for three years.  The new CCNP-BSCI 642-901 exam qualifies for recertification, other options are to take a next module level for CCNP certification exam with prefix exam code starting with 642-xxx.
Where the CCNA and CCNP-BSCI exam can be held?
The exam can be held at any Cisco Authorized Testing Center such as: Virtual University Enterprises (VUE) around the world.

What is the different between CCENT certificate and CCNA certificate?
The Cisco CCENT (Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician) certification validates the skills required for entry-level network support positions, the starting point for many successful careers in networking.  Candidates should have the knowledge and skill to install, operate and troubleshoot a small enterprise branch network, including basic network security.  CCENT certification is the first step toward achieving CCNA, which covers medium size enterprise branch networks with more complex connections.  Detail information about INCD1 (you need to pass this exam to get CCENT certification) and ICND2 exam (the two exams you need to pass before getting your CCNA certification) can be read at: http://www.cisco.com/certifications
Does BIT Education conducting ICND1 640-822 course/workshop?
ICND1 (Interconnecting Cisco Networking Device Part 1) is the first part of the entire CCNA course material.  BIT Education does not have ICND1 course/workshop yet because we believe many people who wish to attend our course is willing to get (or review) the full material which they need to be mastered before getting CCNA exam.
What is the difference between BIT Education CCNA course and CNAP?
Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP) is Cisco initiative to deliver the CCNA curriculum for college/university students via its formal academy i.e.: University, Senior High School, and some formal education center.  CNAP curriculum is devided into four semesters and delivered using online learning method (which all the material can be accessed only in online form using web-based application).  The time needed to pass the four semesters is relatively six to 18 months depending on the formal academy arrangement.  This course is ideal for students who have plenty of time slot for learning but may cause some considerations for those who need to aquire the entire material in fairly short time (one to two and half months).  In response to this consideration, BIT Education conducts some CCNA courses with flexible of time starting from 10 days (Fast Track) to two and half months (Regular for Busy People Program).
Is there any prerequisites to join CCNA course at BIT Education?
No, there is no need to know anything about computer networking because all the CCNA courses at BIT Education will be start from the basic.  But it will be beneficial for you if you have knowledge in using computer for daily task purposes (i.e.: Office Application, Internet access for web browsing, checking your e-mail, etc) and able to read and understand English because the material that is used also the CCNA Exam question are presented in English.  The fact that you can read this FAQ, we believe that you've already passed the second criteria Smile
Is there any prerequisites to join BSCI course at BIT Education?
Yes, you should have already take CCNA course (in any training center), and/or networking experiences at least 2 years.  We appriciate if you have CCNA certificate (valid or not valid).
Is there any prerequisites to join Exam Preparation at BIT Education?
Yes, you should have to pass our trial exam in order to join Exam Preparation Class.
What is the type of your training classes?
All classes will be 100% on-site which means you must come to BIT Education and attend class.  We also provide in-house training.  Please contact our sales representative for more information.
Do you have any on-line classes?
Currently we do not have any off-site class using e-learning media.  We believe that many people who wish to attend our courses are more comfortable to study with one-to-one method, where students can interact with the instructor in class. What language do the instructors use to present the materials?
Instructors present all the material in Bahasa Indonesia.
Who are the instructors?
The instructors at BIT Education are carefully recruited with high qualification and experiences, and at minimum should be at least CCNA certified with two years hands-on experiences in Cisco.   The numbers of instructors are increasing upon the class growth.
Is there any discount for group or can the fee be paid in several payments?

Do you have any other branches outside Jakarta?
Currently, we don't have any branches outside Jakarta.  But if you are interested to start a group class and decided to make a trip to Jakarta, we will gladly arrange for your arrival.
Do I need to bring my own laptop?
No, you don't.  However, if you want to save any configurations from your router, you may want to bring your laptop or USB Flash disk.
